Community Projects
Building together
Community Projects are hands-on initiatives that meet specific, identified needs, from growing food and supporting learning to cleaning up the places we all share.
We start with what each community tells us it needs, then plan and deliver the work alongside the people who live there.
What we do
Projects shaped by community need — here are the kinds of work we take on.
Community gardens and food security
Planting food gardens that put fresh produce on local tables and teach skills that last.
Learning support
Helping learners thrive through homework and reading support, learning spaces, resources and mentoring.
School projects
Gardens, learning spaces and environmental programmes that give learners something to grow, build and be proud of.
Beach cleanups
Bringing volunteers together to restore our coastline and protect marine life.
Area-specific cleanups
Targeted clean-ups of the parks, streets, rivers and public spaces that matter most to each neighbourhood.
Every project is designed and delivered with the community, so the impact is something people own and keep looking after long after the day itself.
Growing food.
Growing community.
How it works
- 1
Listen
We begin with deep listening — understanding what the community identifies as its most pressing need.
- 2
Plan
A project plan is developed collaboratively, with community members as active participants.
- 3
Build
Volunteers, donors and community members work together to bring the project to life.
- 4
Hand over
Ownership is transferred to the community, with ongoing support from JoyImpact as needed.
